Hybrid Learning Approach
To comply with real estate licensing regulations students have to make a choice; take the class online, by CD-ROM, or the antiquated approach sitting through 63-hours in a classroom.
Some students indicated they were uncertain about taking the course work online or by CD-ROM. However, all students liked the idea of not having to spending endless hours sitting in a classroom.
We consulted with Graeme Mathews, PhD., and President of EmPowerMind, LLC, who said "that most colleges have the same issue when adult learners take their first online class. Colleges transition classroom students into online learners by offering a 'blended teaching approach'. A blended teaching approach combines cutting edge online technology and classroom support interaction."
Graeme offered this solution. "Provide MSI online and CD-ROM learners a hybrid blended teaching approach by providing students with the opportunity to come into the classroom as often as they feel it is necessary to address their concerns." He added, "As soon as a student experiences the freedom online and CD-ROM learning provides and they discover their innate ability to absorb the information they will actually request less classroom interaction."

To start your licensure quest take the following simple steps. The steps are not required to be taken in any specific sequence except you must successfully complete the MSI CD-ROM or online pre-licensing course before you are eligible to take the state licensing exam.
The first step is to prepare and send off your licensing application. The application can be downloaded or completed online from the link page. Normal processing time is 45 to 60 days. The Division of Real Estate has up to 120 days to determine if an applicant is eligible for licensure. On the link page you can also follow the processing status of your application.
The second step is to make an appointment with Pearson Vue (the state testing contractor) to have your fingerprints taken electronically. Fingerprinting by ink and paper is no longer acceptable. You can make your appointment for fingerprinting on the link page. If you miss your appointment Pearson Vue will charge another fingerprinting fee.
The third step is the key to your ultimate success, enrolling in an MSI online or CD-ROM course. Upon successfully completing the MSI course you will then make an appointment (from the link page) with Pearson Vue to take the state licensing examination. If you miss your appointment Pearson Vue will charge another examination fee to take the test.
